I know it’s been a while since I last posted and I am very sorry. I’m not a lazy blogger or anything, it just gets a little difficult sometimes with school (especially in grade 11!), assessment and sport. I can’t say that it was the most enjoyable first term because, quite truthfully, it was one of the hardest. But you can only go up from here, right? Right (hopefully).
Mocha Chocolate Cake + Mocha Macarons
Welcome to 2017! I know it’s a little late and I haven’t posted anything in over a month, but over the past few weeks I’ve been busy travelling with my family. So we just came back from Whistler last week, and being Australian, it’s not everyday you find yourself putting on two layers of thermals, a thick ski jacket, gloves and a beanie just to go outside. From -17°C to temperatures of over 30°C, the climate really can’t get any more extreme.
Strawberry Swirl Vanilla Ice Cream
This is the second sorbet/ice cream recipe I’ve posted for the summer holidays, but it is by far the best one. So here is the recipe for a vanilla bean ice cream with a strawberry swirl, and let me tell you – it will be the best ice cream you will ever have. No joke. Like seriously.
Vanilla Bean Cake with Vanilla American Buttercream
I think I have finally found a good vanilla cake recipe. But people look for different things in a cake. Some like it moist and dense, some like it light and fluffy. So this recipe is the latter option since it is more of a sponge cake rather than a butter cake but still provides the structural properties for layering.
Gingerbread Recipe
It’s crazy how quickly the time flies by. One minute you’re in the middle of August and the next minute you’re counting down the days till Christmas. So since homemade gifts are always the best, why not make someone some gingerbread?
Linzer Cookies: Vanilla + Strawberry and Chocolate
These cookies are the perfect Christmas gift, and what’s even better about them is that you can make two different flavours from the same dough. So there are vanilla cookies with strawberry jam and chocolate cookies with a chocolate ganache filling.
Mango Sorbet Recipe
Sorry, I know I’ve been MIA for a while but I’m officially back! I’ve been busy for the past few months with school, assessment, exams and all that fun stuff. Good news though, grade 10 is finally finished and the holidays have begun. So I’m excited for the Christmas recipes and gift ideas that will be coming soon on Beyond Our Sky. But since it’s summer here in Australia- I thought I would kick things off this beautiful, bright mango sorbet.
Gluten-free Peanut Butter Cookies
If you love peanut butter, then you will love these cookies. They’re gluten-free and can be dairy-free if you use a dairy-free chocolate or make a chocolate-glaze from cacao butter. But don’t worry – all the recipe details will be at the end of this post.
